Here's the post we've all been waiting for,
the review of the Gale Strike Gundam : Original Color Ver!
First up is the profile pic of the gundam itself.
And also, some background info on this gundam.
The Gale Strike Gundam was piloted by a Librarian (i dont know, an evil organization or something?) named ND HE! What a badass name of a villain. And he's basically the clone of Gai Murakumo! If Gai ever piloted a Strike, this is the Gundam that he would choose. Its basically a rehash, paste here and there the armor, add some new parts and add 2 big ass sword of the original Strike Gundam design.
I must say that i really like the looks of it. I dont know why a LOT of people gave this gundam a negative opinion on the looks of it. Some people just cant accept a bad ass looking gundam huh? Fuck those people. I love the looks of this gundam.
One of the parts that i like is the elbow part that basically is the side skirt for the original Strike Gundam. The one that were used for storing that small puny ass knife called Armor Scneider. Hell, i dont even know what that means. Why is it called Armor when its a knife? FUCK.
Then we have the second part on this gundam that i like that is the knee armor. Damn, that looked nice yo! I love that "brutal pointy" looks. And this part is what differentiate between this Gundam and the Strike Gundam. Basically this part add more height to the Gundam. and it makes him more taller then the original.
Its articulation time!
First up is the articulation of the neck. Like any other NG, its on a ball joint. So expect the same old neck movement range. As per the pic tells. One thing that dissatisfies me is that it cannot do the "chicken" move. (watch Prime92 on youtube, he loves to do the "chicken" move in his reviews)
Next is the articulation of the hands. And did i tell ya that the shoulder armor looks badass also? Hell yeah it is. So, its an NG. Expect the hands to move like and NG. The hand only bends till 90 degrees and thats it.
But a point worth mention is the part where the hands combine with the body (i dont know what that joint is called, just look at the pic below), it can extends forward to reveal more point of articulation. Thats a great thing.
Then we have the waist. Although with some big ass armor slapped all around this gundam, it can turns 360 degrees with ease. No problem on that. But as it is an NG, it is not on a ball joint. So it can only turns and not tilt forward or backward.
Here we have the legs. The front skirt armor moves that high and the legs can go apart that far.
The legs then can go that far to the front and can only go that far to the back as the back skirts hinder it to move any further. As you can see, the side skirt has been moved to the elbow and that empty space is then replaced as the location where the sword will be placed.
The knee articulation can only go 90 degrees as it isnt double jointed. That part u see on the thigh is the shoulder armor in the original Strike design. I think it looke pretty good. Kinda adds to the bulkiness of the gundam look.
The ankle is on a ball joint and can also do the "chicken" move. The ankle armor also moves up and down and can reveal some nice details.
The thrusters of the backpack are also on a balljoint. Pictures tells all.
The hinge on the upper part of the backpack is used to placed the shield. it have 2 point of articulation as you can see in the pics below. Quite a big range of movement on this fellow.
So, basically i cover all the main points of articulation and i can say that it is standard NG range of movement. At least it can do the kneeling pose nicely.
So here's the accessories/weapons or whatever you want to call it that is included with this kit.
You got 2 Wing Saw (that big ass ship cutting sword). I love big swords and the saw like look really brings the "brutal psycho killer" look. Then we have 2 standard beam saber, a standard Seed series shield, 2 puny knife, a trigger hand and a standard Seed series beam rifle. Its the same with Strike but with the addition of the two new swords. Oh, and it also comes with two alternate knee parts for you to make the original Strike Gundam. I've tried it once and yeah, it can turns into Strike.
Here's a closer pic of how the backpack looks like. the handle in front is used to put the beam saber and it looks nice there.
So thats all in the accessories/weapons department. Well, it looks quite good this far rite? Time for the bad news or the problems that i encounter with this kit. First up is the hands. To hold the Wing Saw, you have to remove the hand that is consist of two parts that is connected at two point. The upper point (refer to the pic below), that is the male part just love to snap and this will certaintly make you goes FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU like i've done in the past when i snapped that motherfucking part. Damn. So be careful with the that.
Well, thats all for the review. All i can say is that i dont regret the decision that i made to buy this kit as it is a great kit. The looks, the overall add on of extra armor parts makes this kit a great variation of Strike Gundam. It looks badass and you know it.
It can do a few cool poses and at RM90, its a great kit and worth your money. Though it depends on your individual preferences. Im not saying you must like this kit or i'll fucking kill you, but,.......fuck that, u must like this kit or i'll fucking kill you noob!!
I give NG 1/100 Gale Strike Gundam a 6 out of 10 star points. Cya in the next review guys!
