MG Gundam Wing EW : Let the build begins! WIP 1

New Mobile Report
Gundam Wing

Yes, one of the most favorable and loved Gundam series
by fans worldwide.
I admit it, the reason why i was into gunpla
is because of Gundam Wing.
back in 2002, i saw Gundam Wing on Tv2 and immediately
proceeded to buy my first plamo;
1/144 Sandrock.
Good times~

Then last year, i decided to rewatch the anime series again
and yes, it was as cool as it is back when i first watched it.

I bet everyone remembered the anime opening.

Just Wild Beat Communication! <3

Why the hell does Heero Yuy do
that pose in the beginning? i'm not sure myself.
Heck, dont even question it.
He's Heero, you don't ask him question or he'll blow his farking gundam!

Anyway, got my new haul today.
It's MG Wing Fighter EW!
and yes, it's a bootleg. :)
Haters gonna hate and
i don't really care.

Ribbons : Say hello to my new friend!

The box seems nice. Although a little bit dented,
the content is still in a good condition.

The runners was packed tightly in 2 plastic bags,
that will create some problems later.
After a few minutes looking at the manual and runners,
i decided to build it!

I always starts with the weapons.
Why? because usually weapons are the
easiest to build so it should be
a great warming up before moving to
building the MS itself.

Le weapons that Wing EW has~

Wing EW is really a simple MS in terms
of weaponry. It comes with one beam rifle,
a shield, and 2 beam...cartridges? ammo? clip?
Theres also the generic beam saber which is not pictured.

Onto the beam rifle.

The beam rifle looks great. In terms of plastic quality,
GaoGao really has improved. The grey parts has great details
and is not brittle and really smooth.
The blue part is kinda thin and fragile so be careful.
The yellow part doesn't look dull
compared with the yellow on GaoGao older releases.

cough*wingzerocustom*cough.

Though there's one problem. A generic problem
that you can find on almost all bootleg kits.
The gap! :O

see that in the circle? yes, it's a gap :O

It's not really a big deal actually.
Can be fixed with some cement/superglue.
So, no worries guys.

Next is the shield.

The shield looks nice. Both the top and bottom part.
The panel line looks deep enough and
all the parts snap fit nicely.
Though it has the same problem
as the beam rifle earlier, that is,
the gap! :O

The gap! Highlighted here with my poorly drawn grey circle

This one cannot be fixed. Well,
my skill is not high enough to fix it.
But, meh..it's not really a major problem for me.
 I don't really mind considering it's a bootleg.
It is bound to have a few problems.
You get what you pay for.

Last one is the beam cartridges / ammo clip.

Instantly, you can spot the problem from the picture.
The round ammo clip is badly...scratched?
Got some marks which i think
is because of the way the runners were
sandwiched together in those two plastic bags.
My solution is to just sand and repaint them.

scratch marks

That's all for the 1st WIP.
Overall, i do think the color and details of the weapons
looks nice. Although my pics is kinda
messed up in terms of lighting. It makes the
parts looks much more "brighter".
I can assure you the color on this kit looks
nicer compared to GaoGao older release.

cough*wingzerocustom*cough.

Anyway, stay tuned for the next WIP.
Till we meet again!
