(WIP 1) Daban MG Epyon : snapfit, thoughts and problems~

Hurmmm,
it seems that i need to take back my words on
Daban being the same as TT Hongli because,
dengggg, this is the best pirated MG kit that i have done!

Though, there are a few problems, i will address
them in this post. For reviews, u can check out
places like Dalong.net and others.
I'm not doing a review anymore as it is really time consuming.

So, here we go!

I've finished snapfitting the kit. All i can say is
the quality by far is the most superb.
yeah, this is the second release by Daban, the 1st one being
MG Astray Red Frame Kai, but i didnt buy it because
Astray really didnt interest me much. Epyon in the other hand
is needed as i want to complete the EW line.

The build feels easy, the parts are much more thicker and
didnt prone to break. so its a good thing. Based on my experience
with GaoGao Deathscythe and Deathscythe Hell, this is far
more "sturdy" in term of how the plastic were put together and how it
stays together. I've heard that the Daban version is much more matte
in term of the finishing of the plastic then Bandai version, and it
really does shows. The maroon color looks matte. The dark blue parts
looks OK, and the yellow on the arms and legs are an improvement the the
old shitty yellow that GaoGao/TTHongli have.

So, the builds are really good, things goes "PA SI!"
together nicely and it feels sturdy and dont go wobble wiggle,
EXCEPT, yes its a big except, for the waist part.
Mine didnt really stay in place good but still managed to hold well.
So with a little superglue, it will be good.

The inner frame in this is really superb. I remember that my
Deatchscythe from GaoGao cant even snap in properly,
theres some pegs that u have trim and others, but with this
one, im really impressed. The pegs goes in nicely and
the joints are rather tight but thats a good thing.
Its not like super tight, but enough that it is not loose.

The decal and clear stickers looks great.
Though i dont really like dry transfer, so
im gonna order some water slide decals.

yes, i used Paint to highlight it

Now, onto the build. First the head. i have no problems
with the head and it does snapfit nicely. But the
problems are only with, the red ear thingy on the
left side. Needed a little force to put it in.

gonna glue this once it is painted

The body. The only problem is the white part on the centre.
It didnt go through properly. The left side goes in, but the left didnt.
So, the only solution that can be done is superglue. or theres a
high possibility it would go missing. At first, i thought its only mine
that has the problem, but it seems that a lot of
other kits has this problem.

that damn small, annoying part!

The hands. Oh god, please super glue or cement that
fucking annoying small part. Mine goes flying once and damn,
its sooooo hard to find that tiny piece. So glue it.

another annoying piece...

Aside from that, the other problem with mine is the yellow
claw on the left hand. It sure love to fall apart. So will
have to decide wether to glue that or not.

The waist is so great, it works nicely. Even with
the complex mechanism of the transformation, its tight,
works well and is amazing. I love the waist. Damn nice.
Side skirts didnt even pop out. Really nice.

damn falling fins

The legs. Wow, kudos to Bandai for the engineering.
It really is awesome. The dragon head, the segmented legs
that can turn into neck for the dragon. It is awesome.
Daban is also great in...ermmm....replicating the engineering for
cheapskates like us. :D except for that black fin on the side.
they love to fall apart.

The weapons are great, no problem at all. The big ass
sword works fine, but u would want to be careful with
the clear green part as its quite fragile. I do think the wire
is quite annoying but it does the job well and are the same with
the Bandai one. The heat rods are great, but i do heard that from
other people that the Bandai one are known to broke
upon time so be careful.

the wing mechanism works great!

The wing are great, i have no problem with it.
and the mechanism works fine with the Daban version also. :)

So, its a great model. the model is sturdy, does not wobble, and
the problems that i have i think didnt really effect the model.
So, its really great. A great improvement from the old generation
of GaoGao / TTHongli bootleg quality.
Be sure to check out next post as i begin to paint it. :)

See ya!
